A Study On The Drums Of Northeast

The Northeastern Drum widely spreads in northeast provinces, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebeiprovince as well as inner Mongolia etc., which is a branch of talking-singing drumarts in China. In the long-term spreading and development, the Northeastern Drumforms its unique art style and has a set of complete tune system. This paper carries outa preliminary research on lyrics, tune and the relationship of lyrics and tune related tothe Northeastern Drum music noumenon through interview surveys and data analysisetc., as well as based on abundant oral material and historical accounts collected bythe author in recent years during field studies in the regions covered by theNortheastern Drum, it explores the common and individual characteristics of China’straditional talking-singing arts in combination of lyrics and music of voices, whichaims at summarizing the characteristics and regular patterns of the Northeastern Drumto learn from this experience, hence to carry on and develop the excellent culture ofChina’s traditional music.
