Purpose:To observe the clinical effect of eye acupuncture movement therapy on upper limb spasm after stroke, and provide an effective method for clinical treatment of upper limb spasm after stroke.Material and method:This research adopted randomized controlled study method, dividing 70 cases of subjects accorded with the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria into the experimental group(eye acupuncture with kinesiotherapy group) and control group(kinesiotherapy group) by using random number table method, and each group had 35 cases. The control group was treated with routine kinesiotherapy; test group used kinesiotherapy after applying eye acupuncture. The period of treatment was 4 weeks for a course of treatment, 5 times per week, once per day, totally treated for 20 times. Use modified Ashworth scale(MAS),Fugl-meyer assessment scale(FMA), modified Barthel index(MBI) and TCM syndrome classification and quantification table to objectively assess patients’ spastic limb motor function, ability of daily life and TCM symptoms. Results: 1.Upper limb spasm analysis:There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05); After treatment, symptoms of upper limb spasm were significantly improved than before, and there were significant differences(P<0.01).Furthermore, the experimental group was better than the control group(P<0.01). Improvement of upper limb spasm: the total effective rate was 88.57% in the experimental group and 60% in the control group. After rank sum test, the total effective rate of the two groups was significantly different(P<0.05). 2. Upper limb motor function analysis: There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05); After treatment, the upper limb motor ability of two groups were improved in different degree than the treatment before, and there were significant differences(P<0.01). Furthermore, the experimental group was better than the control group(P<0.01).3. Ability of daily life analysis: There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05); After treatment, ability of daily life of two groups were obviously improved than the treatment before, and there were significant differences(P<0.01).Furthermore, the experimental group was better than the control group(P<0.01). 4. TCM syndrome analysis: There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05); After treatment, TCM syndrome of two groups were obviously improved than the treatment before, and there were significant differences(P<0.01).Furthermore, the experimental group was better than the control group(P<0.01). Comparison of curative effect of TCM syndrome: the total effective rate was 82.86% in the experimental group and 57.14% in the control group. After rank sum test, the total effective rate of the two groups were significantly different(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1. The therapeutic effect of eye acupuncture with kinesiotherapy in improving upper limb spasm and motor function after stroke is better than simple kinesiotherapy, which is an effective method for clinical treatment of spastic paralysis after stroke; 2. The effect of eye acupuncture with kinesiotherapy in improving activities of daily living is better than simple kinesiotherapy, which can improve the quality of patients’ lives; 3. Eye acupuncture with kinesiotherapy in improving the efficacy of TCM is superior to simple kinesiotherapy, which can strongly promote patients’ rehabilitation; 4. Eye acupuncture has lots of advantages like short-body, simple operation, without applying technique, hard to bend and break the needle, and not subject to body position limitation and etc. At the same time, eye acupuncture with kinesiotherapy can effectively reduce the duration of treatment for patients, which is worth further clinical application and promotion.
