Migraine is a clinical common primary headache, characterized by paroxysmal, unilateral, moderate to severe, pulsating headaches. Migraine usually lasts 4 to 72 hours, and the symptoms of nausea and vomiting may be exacerbated by the stimulations of sound and light, or relieved by having a rest in a quiet environment. Some patients have family heredity, and female have more chances of the headache than male. According to clinical manifestations, migraine is responded with Chinese medicine field of "headache", "head wind", "Brain Wind". In modern society, we call for a return to nature, thus, the application of green therapy is advocated widely, for the reason that it has good curable effects while with little body injury. Comparatively, the Western medicine treatment of migraine do take effects in the short term, however, it cannot avoid the recurrence of headache. Moreover, with the use of pain medications, Western medicine treatment usually brings many adverse reactions, such as gastrointestinal symptoms. On the whole, Chinese medicine treatment have precious and rich experience in the migraine treatment, with strong advantages of high security, few side effects and little chance of recurrence. Professor Zhang has engaged in clinical medicine for many years, and has a profound understanding of Chinese medicine and acupuncture treatment. Based on the observation of modern life style, he reveals the close relationship between migraine with phlegm, associates the cure with various causes, including chief qi, and blood stasis, and yang, hot and the like, and emphasize the compounding treatment of medicine and acupuncture should be based on liver and spleen recuperation.
