Purpose:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of the electric acupuncture of piercing medial and lateral Xiyan combined with healthy atmosphere and bone supplemented pill in treating liver and kidney deficiency syndrome of knee osteoarthritis. To confirm the therapeutic action of the palliative treatment to relieve symptoms such as pain and swelling on the knee caused by KOA,tentatively. To evaluate the treatment effectiveness on NRS scores in a state of moving or resting and the indexes of color doppler ultrasound on the diseased knee-joint,preliminarily.Furthermore,to provide the basis and explore the clinical popularization and application for the combined treatment on KOA.Material and method:The randomized controlled trial of clinical research methods are used in this research.Totally 60 patients with KOA were randomly and equally assigned into the experimental group(30 cases) and the control group(30 cases). The control group was treated by the electric acupuncture of piercing medial and lateral Xiyan and voltaren for external use.The experimental group was treated by the therapy of the control group, combined with healthy atmosphere and bone supplemented pill. The course of treatment was 15 days. Before and after treatment, the clinical effects of the diseased knee-joint pain and swelling relief and adverse events in two groups were evaluated according to safety indexes,knee-joint pain(NRS scores in a state of moving or resting),knee-joint X-ray and color doppler ultrasound.Case report form is to be used for clinical data collection and management. The statistical software SPSS17.0 is to be used in statistical analysis. Results: 1.All of the 60 cases completed the study(control group 30 cases and experimental group 30 cases) without disappeared and clinical adverse events. 2.The general information and baseline are compared before treatment. There were no significant difference in two groups(P>0.05). 3.The indexes of knee-joint color doppler ultrasound, which the sonographic characteristics ofknee-joint effusion and synovial membrane, before and after treatment had a very significant improvement(P<0.05),NRS scores of Knee-joint pain in a state of moving or resting after treatment were significantly lower than that before treatment in both groups(P <0.05),moreover with better results in the experimental group(P<0.05). 4.There was a significant difference of clinical efficacy in two groups(P < 0.05).Total effective rates in experimental group was significantly superior to which in control group. Conclusion: 1.It is effective for treating KOA on the indexes of knee-joint color doppler ultrasound(the sonographic characteristics of knee-joint effusion and synovial membrane),that the control group(the electric acupuncture of piercing medial and lateral Xiyan and voltaren for external use),which is contributed to relieve knee-joint pain in a state of moving or resting, obviously. 2.It has been confirmed tentatively, before and after treatment, that the therapeutic action of the control group to relieve pain and swelling on the diseased knee caused by KOA with liver and kidney deficiency syndrome, effectively, safely. 3.The clinical efficacy of the experimental group, treated by the therapy of the control group, combined with healthy atmosphere and bone supplemented pill, had better than the control group(the electric acupuncture of piercing medial and lateral Xiyan and voltaren for external use).Furthermore,it is contributed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and explore the clinical popularization and application for KOA with liver and kidney deficiency syndrome.
