Clinical Study On Treatment Of Acute Gouty Arthritis By Pricking Blood Therapy

Purpose: To research on pricking blood therapy in the treatment of acute gouty arthritis via a randomized controlled clinical trial, to evaluate the clinical effects of pricking blood therapy and explore a safe, convenient and efficient TCM therapy in the treatment of acute gouty arthritis.Material and method: The 60 patients who were diagnosed with acute gouty arthritis were selected from the inpatient and outpatient of the second department of orthopaedics of the 1st affiliated hospital of Liaoning TCM Univercity. All patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. Under the same dietary intervention, treatment group(acupuncture-loxoprofen group) was treated by pricking blood therapy and taking loxoprofen sodium tablets, the control group(loxoprofen group) was treated by taking loxoprofen sodium tablets. After the treatment, we chose instant analgesic effect, VAS score, signs and symptoms score and blood uric acid concentration as the main observation indexes. In the end, the conclusions were summed up by analyzing the indexes with statistical processing.Results:1. After the treatment, VAS score, signs and symptoms score, blood uric acid concentrations of the two groups are lower than the before the treatment, the differences are statistically significant(P﹤0.05).2. After the first treatment, the comparison of two groups of instant analgesic effect is statistical significance(P﹤0.05), acupuncture-loxoprofen group is more efficient than loxoprofen group.3. After the treatmen, the comparison of VAS score, signs and symptoms score in two groups are statistically significant(P﹤0.05), acupuncture-loxoprofen group is more efficient than loxoprofen group.4. After treatment, the comparison of two groups of the blood uric acid concentration is not different statistically(P﹥0.05).5. After treatment, the total effective rate of acupuncture-loxoprofen group and loxoprofen group is 93% and 83% respectively, their difference have statistical significance(P<0.05), the effect of acupuncture-loxoprofen group group is better than loxoprofen group.Conclusion:1. On the basis of the treatment of NSAIDs, the pricking blood therapy can relieve the symptoms of joint pain, joint swelling, local skin and temperature, motion of joint more effectively and analgesic effect is faster than that in control group.2. The pricking blood therapy is a convenient, effective and safe therapy.
