ObjectiveTo analyze the middle dosage, the most common dosage, the amount and scope of the usual dosage range. To draw the line chart of the historical dosage of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction, and analyze the difference dosage between the doctors in various times, so the reasonable dosage range can be sort out for clinic use.To analyze the factors, such as age, gender, disease and so on, which influent the dosage of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction. To summarize the strategies of controlling the dosage among present doctors, in order to provide some reference to later clinical use.Content and methodThis study mainly focus on the dosage range of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction. Firstly, to establish the inclusive criteria, and select the literature on Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction from ancient medical books and academic journals in contemporary. Then put the dosage of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction into Excel table, calculate the maximum amount of the prescription dosage, minimum dosage, the median dosage, the most common dosage and dosage range commonly used, draw the historical locus diagram of the total dosage of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction, and the per time dosage of Da Huang, Mang Xiao, Zhi Shi and Hou po. To calculate the proportion between two medicines and four medicines in the formula, in order to find out the best medical proportion.Classify the data according to dynasty, and analyze them by SPSS21.0. To compare the variety of the dosage between historical dynasties since Tang and Han Dynasty, and compare the dosage between two adjacent dynasties. If the distribution is normal distribution, using T-test; if it is not normally distributed, using the nonparametric test.Classify the data according to age, gender, disease and so on, analyze the influence of different factors by statistical method.ResultTo draw the historical locus diagram of the whole formula. The statistic show that the dosage of Tang Dynasty is the same as Han Dynasty, there is no big difference between Song, Jing, Yuan Dynasties and Han Dynasty, the dosage declined in Ming Dynasty. To draw the historical locus diagram of per time dosage. The statistic show that the dosage did not change much since Song Dynasty, and all below the per time dosage of Han Dynasty. To draw the historical locus diagram of per medicine dosage. The statistic show that there is no statistic difference between Song, Jing, Yuan and Han Dynasty on the dosage of Da Huang, and it declined since Ming Dynasty. The dosage of Mang Xiao is lower than Han Dynasty since Song Dynasty. For Zhi Shi, there is slight difference between now since Tang Dynasty and Han Dynasty. The dosage of Hou Po is almost the same between Song, Jing, Yuan Dunasty and Han Dynasty, and it declined since Ming Dynasty. The highest frequency of the proportion between two medicines is 1.00, and the highest frequency of the proportion between the four medicines is 1:1:1:1. This result is inconsistent with the ratio of origin proportion, which indicated that the later doctors paid less attention to the proportion between medicines. In Han and Tang Dynasties, the formula form of Da Cheng Qi Tang was decoction. In Song Dynasty, it changed into powder decoction. In later Dynasties, it returned to decoction. This is because of its effective feature. At present, the doctors devolved its medication forms, which is benefit for amplifying its application. The doctors in various times always use the origin decoction, because of its effective characteristic. Most other medicines add to the original four are medicines to invigorate blood and dissolve stasis, cleare heat, or rectify Qi, which is consistent to the effect of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction.Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction is mainly used to treat the diseases of digestive diseases, among which intestinal obstruction, acute pancreatitis and postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction are the most common diseases. The dosage is less in treating postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction, for the patients with postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction is quite weak, could not bear too much medicine. And there was no big difference in dosage between the other two diseases.ConclusionCompare the dosage in Han Dynasty, the total dosage decline start since Ming Dynasty, per time dosage decline since Song Dynasty, Da Huang dosage decline since Ming Dynasty, Mang Xiao dosage decline since Song Dynasty, Hou Po dosage Decline since Ming Dynasty. All those show that the dosage change of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction started since Song and Yuan Dynasties, which were closely related to the prevalence of powder decoction in Song Dynasty. Since Ming Dynasty, the formula form return to decoction, and the dosage gradually became stable and successive.Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction is well matched, with good effect, and short healing period. Decoction and the origin formula is often used in clinic, adding medicines to invigorate blood and dissolve stasis, cleare heat, or rectify Qi, which could strength the effect of Da Cheng Qi Tang decoction. The dosage is variety because of the factors, such as age, gender, constitution, disease and so on, which show the spirit of treatment according to pattern differentiation in TCM.Combined with traditional Chinese medicine theory, some of the results of the analysis is not ideal, which may related to the shortage of data sample, the quality of literature, the knowledge of researcher and so on. It is wised that someone will do further research.
