Background:Nephrotic syndrome (NS) is a common and extremely difficult clinical syndrome in the treatment of renal diseases. NS is characterized by a large number of proteinuria, Low serum albumin, obvious edema and hyperlipidemia. At present, the main treatment for this disease is to Inhibit the immune and inflammatory response. The most commonly used drugs for the treatment of the disease are glucocorticoids (GC). But the side effects of GC is more and inevitable, and at the same time, Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) showed obvious advantages in reducing toxicity and increasing efficiency. So, the study of the application of TCM combined with GC in the treatment of NS is of great significance. In today’s information age, data mining plays a role in clinical data exploration and is helpful for inheritance of experience of famous senior Chinese medicine doctors. Objective:With the application of data mining technology, carrying on exploratory research to the cases of Professor Lv Renhe’s patients with NS. Then digging into the implicit knowledge that is undetected and summarizing the clinical experience and academic thoughts of Professor Lv in the application of TCM combined with GC in the treatment of NS. In the end, Verifying the feasibility of applying data mining technology in inheriting the experience of famous TCM doctors. Methods:Gathering and filtering Professor. Lv’s outpatients who are willing to accept the application of TCM combined with GC in the treatment of NS and then getting Satisfying datum of 24 cases. Using "the basis of traditional Chinese medicine database system" and《Thesaurus of traditional Chinese Medicine》 to Parse and index the date of this cases, and then Putting these data into "basis data processing system". At last querying on line and getting statistical analysis from multiple perspectives. Results:The 202 clinical data of basis were analyzed, and the top five complications: cold, rhinopathy, osphyalgia, insomnia, acne; the top three pathogenis:internal cause, congenital insufficiency, long illness and deficiency of vital Qi; the pathogenesis of the top five factors:deficiency of both Qi and blood, blood stasis and damp retention, stagnation of water, Blood stasis blocking branches of channels, deficiency of Yin and internal thermal; the top four disease locations:kidney, spleen, lung, stomach; the top ten symptoms:urine turbidity, sleep badly, slouching, soreness and weakness of waist, loss of appetite, stuffy nose, cough, loose stools, dry mouth (tied for first with lower extremity edema, spontaneous sweating, easy to catch a cold), lassitude and asthenia; 10% of the former therapy:increase the memory, invigorate the circulation of blood and alleviate water retention, invigorate Qi and nourish blood, discharge water and clear damp, tonify Qi and blood, cool the blood and eliminate stasis, clear heat and remove toxin, clear heat and remove damp, promote flow of Qi and blood circulation, nourish Yin and discharge fire, promote blood circulation and remove obstruction in channels; 20% of the former frequently used herbs: agaric polyporus, notopterygium root, fructus alpiniae oxyphyllae, the root of red-rooted salvia, glossy ganoderma, Astragalus membranaceus, Angelica sinensis, Poria cocos, Hedyotis diffusa, Ligusticum wallichii, radix paeoniae rubrathe (unpeeled) root of common peony, coxtex moutan, radix pseudostellariae, Eupatorium japonicum Thunb, gardenia, baked licorice, fructus amomi, licorice roots northwest origin, the root of large-flowered skullcap; Chinese traditional medicine partner frequently used:glossy ganoderma and Rhodiola Rosea, Astragalus membranaceus and Angelica sinensis, Polyporus umbellatus and Poria cocos, notopterygium root and fructus alpiniae oxyphyllae, Tree Peony Bar、radix paeoniae rubrathe (unpeeled) root of common peony and the root of red-rooted salvia. The research of cases classification shows:Symptoms, such as red tongue, rapid pulse, turbid urine, poor sleep, soreness and weakness of waist, lower extremity edema and so on are visible in all the three periods of different uses of GC. In addition, in the period of high doses of GC application, the most common symptoms are dry mouth, wake up early, halitosis, bulimia, etc; in the period of GC slow reduction, the most common symptoms are slouch, loose stool, anorexia, hypourocrinia, etc; in the period of GC maintenance therapy, the most common symptoms are cough, easy to catch a cold, waist sour and pain, skin itch, etc. In these three periods, the status of the therapy "improve memory " is gradually improving and the therapy of tonifying Qi and blood, invigorating the circulation of blood and alleviating water retention are throughout the treatment of the disease. In the 156 cases that physico-chemical examinations are recorded, there are 130 cases which examinations show that the urinary protein is completely normal or mild, accounting for 83.3%. In the 24 cases of initial visits, there are 9 symptoms and the urinary protein is moderate to severe, accounting for 54%. In the 24 cases of last visits, there are 5 symptoms and normal proteinuria is accounted for 70.83%, while the percentage of the moderate to severe proteinuria falls down from 54% to 8.33%.Conclusion:1. Professor Lv Renhe is good at applying TCM combined with GC to treating NS and during the therapy he pays more attention to the role of TCM in reducing toxicity and increasing curative effect. Notopterygium root and fructus alpiniae oxyphyllae are the two representative drugs. Professor Lv Renhe strictly follow the therapy of tonifying deficiency and removing redundance. Tonifying deficiency contains nourishing blood, tonifying Qi, nourishing Yin. Removing redundance contains invigorating the circulation of blood, disinhibitting water, clearing damp and detoxification.2. The results calculated by the "basis data processing system" are in agreement with the clinical experience of professor Lv Renhe. It is helpful to summarize the academic ideas of professor Lv effectively and there is a guiding significance in the respect of inheriting the experience of famous veteran doctors of TCM.
