Since putting forward the data warehouse concept for the first time in 1991, the data warehouse technology has got the considerable development. Many world-famous IT manufacturers put out their own data warehouse products one after another. Now, data warehouse products are used extensively in many fields, such as finance, insurance, telecommunication, etc. They offer high-level and high-quantity decision support for financial analysis, risk analysis, customer resource analysis.With the process of the production technology, the industrial modernization has already become inexorable trend of industrial development. Advanced IT technology is led into the industry production field gradually, which has made a very good effect. But the application of the data warehouse in the field of industry production has not been popularized yet, the value of the historical data of industrial production has not been fully utilized. Because of lacking scientific basis, people who manage production has made a lot of decision by relying expert experiences, which has reduced the efficiency of the industrial production. To this current situation, this paper has designed and implemented a intelligent supervision and management system by combining the characteristic of the active lime rotate kiln, this system adopted the data warehouse technology which is expected to offer decision support for production of the active lime by utilizing the accumulated historical data. Firstly, this paper has carried on the research to data warehouse technology, has introduced the concept and structure of the data warehouse, and has narrated the concept and technological characteristic of the ETL, Multidimensional Data Model and OnLine Analytical Process which are the key components of the data warehouse in detail. Secondly, has described the intelligent supervision and management system with its general function, system architecture, system operation procedure, system hardware and software configuration, which established the foundation for constructing the data warehouse. And then has explained the architecture of the data warehouse which is the part of the intelligent supervision and management system in detail. Based on the platform that is compose of FameView and SQL Server 2000, has designed and implemented the datagathering on industrial filed bus, the store item and the store granularity in the data warehouse. On the basis, has realized the data loading strategy for transforming data from transaction grade to slight integration, and has designed and implemented the multidimensional data model which offer the data source for the online analytical process, in addition, has introduce the maintenance scheme of the data warehouse. Finally, based on the Analysis Services, introduced the concept of materialized view, designed and implemented the multidimensional data collects for active degree, pre-heater temperature and kiln temperature on the basis of multidimensional data model of data warehouse. Then has run the slice, rotate and drill down on the multidimensional data collects by the function of OLAP, and represented the analysis result to terminal users in the form of report, further more, has implemented the core function of the production report generation which is the auxiliary part of the OLAP.
