Aero-Optics is a new subject in which the interaction between index-refraction field induced by steady, unsteady or random fluid motion and electromagnetic wave propagation is investigated. Narrow sense of aero-optics concerns with the optical aberrations arose by the fiowfield of relatively short propagation length in the near field of the optical system. The optical aberrations arose by the flowfield in the CO2 Gasdynamic Laser (GDL) is one of important reasons of effect on the beam quality. Hartmann wavefront sensor with high-speed CCD can measure the optical aberrations in real-time. The effect on wavefont by the flowfield that is in the CO2 GDL under different conditions was researched with Hartmann wavefront sensor in this paper.1. Using the Hartmann wavefront senor of adaptive optical system of the laboratory, realize sampling and recording of wavefront and make it to the available measurement.2. The Zernike mode method of wavefront reconstruction was researched and the condition and the accuracy of measure the wavefront by using 19-element Hartmann wavefront sensor was received. A program for wavefront reconstruction was accomplished.3. Measurements of optical aberrations induced by the gas curtain, by the main air and by the ignition in the CO2 GDL were performed.4. The change of wavefront arose by the fluid in the CO2 GDL was analyzed simply.
