The Research And Implementation Of The Navigation System In Component Library Based On Topic Map

The Component Library is a ligament between development for reusable component and development with reusable component in software reuse, which play important roles on increasing the productivity- of programmers and improving the quality of developed Software. How to represent and retrieve reusable software component is always of interest to the reuse community. High performance navigation system in component library based on component representation will reduce the costs of retrieval and comprehending greatly, so the the request of management and reducing the cost of reuse both put forward a high need on representation and navigation.But in most of component librarys, the main reason for low performance of retrieval is the representation of knowledge without semantic. The traditional representation of knowledge can not express the knowledge that is relative to the subject, and the semantic of the subject also not be used in the search, so those results can't accord well with the request of users. Represented by defining the type and character, the relation between components can be defined freely by user but it doesn't have enough semantic. There are also have some connotative and indirect relationships that need to be be represented and deduce. Now we can't navigatin based the relations between components in Component Library.The technology of Semantic Web offers a new approach to solve the problem, which can be applied in the Knowledge navigation. The retrieval in the semantic level will make the results more exactly. Topic map is a new ISO standard for describing knowledge structures with semantic and associating them with information resources,which can be used to deduce and find indirect relationships.In the last few years, Information Visualization research has explored the application of interactive graphics and animation technology to visualizing and making sense of larger information sets than would otherwise be practical.The primary contributions of this thesis include the following three parts. Firstly, discussing the semantic web and the Frameworkof semantic web based on topic map, and analyzing and comparing the data model of Xml topic map and RDF.Secondly, Applying the technology of topic map and Information Visualization in the component Library, designing the Navigation System in Component Library Based on Topic Map.Last, grounded on TM4J, we design and implement the prototype of the architecture. This paper applies the topic map to manage resource of component Library, and design the architecture of Resource management Model and component navigation Model based on TM. It can also to be applied in other content management.
