Agricultural model is the core of agricultural digital construction. The continuous deepening and development on the research and application of agricultural model proposed a higher demand for their development methods, reuse quality and efficiency, and model management. With the component-based development, agricultural model is usually developed with the pattern of component. Unified organizing and efficiently utilizing model component resources which are distributed and isomeric, is the basis of simulation model component library management and integration under network environment. Guided by the theories of domain engineering, knowledge engineering and component technology, this paper researched agricultural model component libraries and proposed a method of their storage, organization and management, which was to establish the foundation for semantic comprehension, effective integration and share of agricultural model resources.Combining field characteristics of agricultural model component library, this paper proposed its description model, including facet description and relation description. Guided by the description model, the characteristics of agricultural model components and their relationships were analyzed, and an organizing method of agricultural model components driven by topic maps was proposed firstly. Then, the framework and contents of topic maps for agricultural model component library (TM-AMCL) was determined, and the relationships among topic maps, including local atomic topic map(LATM), global atomic topic map(GATM), compound topic map(CTM) and model meta topic map(MMTM), were analyzed. This method could facilitate understanding agricultural model resources and their relationships, enhance the searching and integration efficiency of models and improve the share of model resources by decision support system developers, model managers, agricultural scientific researchers and computer systems.Based on the organizing framework, this paper explicated the constructing process of ATM. On the one hand, designed an extracting algorithm of LATM with the data set conversion and component reflection technologies, and generated the topics, associations and occurrences of agricultural model components. On the other hand, refined a merging algorithm of LATM with the constraint of merging principle, and constructed GATM at last. These algorithms can promote the automation and intelligence of topic maps organization.Under the support of organization method of topic maps, an agricultural model component library retrieval system in B/S pattern based on.NET platform was constructed preliminarily, which provided the functions of managing and querying model components, and maintaining topic maps. It was tested and analyzed with wheat and rice growth model components. This research provided a reference for semantic share of agricultural model component libraries under distributed and heterogeneous environment.
