Research And Implement Of The Distributed Services Level Of JMX

SNMP is the management protocol of Internet. CMIP is the management protocol of telecommunication network. With the development of the network technology, new protocols and technologies will appear. How to solve the problems in the area of distributed network management, and how to integrate different protocols. JMX is the solution proposed by the SUN Microsystems. There are three levels of the JMX model: Instrumentation level, Agent level and Distributed services level. The Application of JMX is mainly in two areas now: 1, working as the framework of application server; 2, developing the protocol stacks based on the JMX.The purpose of this paper is on the second area above, researching and developing the protocol stacks based on the JMX. The benefit of developing the protocol stacks based on the JMX is that one protocol based on JMX can access and manage another protocol based on JMX. That means the SNMP can manage the CMIP, if these protocols stacks are based on the JMX.According to the JMX specification, the protocol stack based on the JMX is called protocol adaptor or protocol connector. This paper makes a deep research and develops the HTTP adaptor, SNMP adaptor and RMI connector, and provides API to implement these adaptors and connector.
