High Level Architecture (HLA) is a new technique developing from computer technique, network technique and simulation technique. Once it appears, it has been paid much attention in the areas of military training and battle simulating. Considering current development of the simulation of virtual ocean battlefield environment, this dissertation put forward Distributed Virtual Ocean Battlefield Environment based on High Level Architecture (HLA). And key technologies have been studied. The main works are as follows:Firstly, the configuration of Distributed Virtual Ocean Battlefield Environment was studied. Then this dissertation studies the design and development process of synthesized virtual ocean environment, including the method of the data collection system of seabed terrain, the data source and development process of scene database and the 3D modeling method of terrain, dynamic entities and static entities.Secondly, the key modeling technologies was studied according to the VR development software MultiGen Creator and Vega. Then the models of terrain and submarine were built. And then, this dissertation gives a method to simulation rain and snow. This dissertation also studies how to realize auto roaming by using Navigator tool and Path tool in Vega. Then this dissertation studies the components of HLA. The kernel thoughts of HLA are interaction and reuse. The technique of HLA will help to solve the problem of agility and expansion in simulation system. And it will help to reduce the network redundancy data.In the end, using VR-Link, the system of Distributed Virtual Ocean Battlefield Environment based on HLA was realized. This dissertation discusses the process of the realization. And the technologies of dual channel, free eye-point and scene record were given.
