Along with the rapid development of embedded technologies and the popularization of Internet,we are entering a well-connected world with information revolution.While comforting people's daily life,technical achievements are ushering much more scinentific and effective approaches to explore the vast unknown world.In the context of technical advance,distant monitoring applications,in which the latest technologies in both embedded solution and network field are being applied,are on the verge of blossoming.This paper is dedicated to the study on solutions and key technologies of distant monitoring applications.Upon the analysis of prevalent monitoring systems,it is mainly based on LPC21xx microprocessors as its hardware platform.It analyses the UC/OS-â…¡real-time kernel and the transplantation to LPC21xx microprocessors.Then,a solution, based on UC/OS-â…¡real-time kernel as its software platform,and C/S model as its programming frame work,is presented.In the later section,this paper focuses on the key technologies of distant monitoring systems based upon uClinux as operating system,and provides an actual solution of a distant monitoring system with the support of Web Server and MiniGUI.With experimental results obtained from both C/S and B/S model,the comparison study concerned with real-time performance,robustness,and other features are discussed in the final section.
