With the development of our society, the traditional personal identification methods are unable to satisfy the needs of many relevant fields. Since biometrics refer to automatic identification technology of an individual have many advantages, such as stability and otherness among different individuals, they pave the way for the invention of new more efficient personal identification methods. Among an individual's physiological traits, such as fingerprint, face, iris and handprint,etc., facial images are the most direct and natural one to use as the basis of personal identification. Therefore, the studies of human face recognition become hot issues in recent years and the human face recognition systems are widely used in many fields. Based on the existing flaws in structure and security problems of current departure system of airport,a more efficient human face detection method is presented and applied to detect passengers in airports. This kind of new Departure and Passengers-Recognizing System (DPRS) greatly improves the security, efficiency and service in airports. This paper mainly researches the application technology and method of human face detection in DPRS, especially discusses the human face detection in color image series and introduces the subsystem used for security checkout in detail. To a successful recognition system, detection is probably the most important step, which especially influences the extraction of characters and recognition. Since the color image series captured in airport are mainly frontal and upright human face of passengers, a fast and effective human face detection method is presented. Firstly, motion detection can get rid of the static area of original images. Secondly, complexion division is used to seek rough human face area in the result images disposed through motion detection. Thirdly, a kind of multiple related temple including eyes-in-whole and face itself is used to validate the human face. In additional, this paper introduces some images disposal methods, such as light compensation, erosion and expansion, etc. Experiment result shows that this kind of human face detection method can fast and accurately divide and seek human face in airport, and satisfy the speed and accuracy demand of DPRS. This paper introduces the development situation of current human face recognition and detection technologies, generalizes human face recognition content and methods, illuminates the research background and meaning of human face detection, analyses and compares the advantages and disadvantages of existing human face detection methods, describes the application environment and structure of DPRS , particularly introduces the subsystem for security checkout based on human face detection technology.
