The Research On Vehicle Plate Identification With Digital Image Processing

With the quick development of the technology of computer, digital image processing has successfully applied to varied fields. Unfortunately, limitations exist in industrial practice because of no uniform resolution. Then, we can say that it is still a great challenge to solve practical problems with the technology of digital image processing in the field of industry.Based on digital image processing, this paper carries out a system of Vehicle Plate Identification based on digital image processing, including designing thought, software frame, and related algorithms.The system was consisted of several major steps to recognize vehicle plate: pre-operation, localization analysis, character segmentation, and character identification. Because present algorithms cannot perform perfectly, this paper brings forward diverse new methods distributed in three steps. The results of experiments show that the algorithm is feasible, and the whole system is reliable and effective.
