Research Of Heterogeneous Data Integration In Software Project Management

Data integration has a wide range application, and there are many heterogeneous data sources in the software project management platform. If we want to use these heterogeneous data, we must study how to integrate these data. These data have different data structure, and data integration must eliminate these differences.XML can be used for the integration of different data, for the capacity of describing structural and semantic. By analyzing of heterogeneous data's characteristic and XML technology, research basic processes of data integration, analyze and explore possibility of XML in data integration, presents a proposal based on XML.Microsoft Project is a universal tool as project management software, so it's the primary content to analyze its data structure. This paper introduce the function, data structure and how to take the data from MS Project.This paper presents the data schema creation of relational sources, XML sources and CSV file sources, and design the XML Mapping and its key arithmetic, and introduces how to transform source data to XML file, then transform XML file to objective database.The main conclusions are: XML can make data integration more simple and convenient, and fit for all kinds of application, by the using of XML as the middle schema in data integration.The end of this paper summarizes my main work and presents the future work.
