The mobile phone products have been developed rapidly in the past few years and benefit the users with the mobile technology's progress. But various kinds of problems have emerged ,such as an excess of development, individuation of the consumers' requirements and the low satisfaction of the users. This is so called usability problems. Usability is the effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction with which a specified set of users can achieve a specified set of tasks in a particular environment. Mobile usability is the effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction with which the users use mobile phone products to achieve their goals. Along with the mobile phone products immerging into people's lives in the last several ten years, mobile usability becomes an increasing serious problem. The mobile usability study has become a hot point in the field of usability engineering.Focus on the question, we conduct some experimental researches on the mobile usability, evaluate and improve the mobile usability based on the simulators, applying with usability tests evaluation methods and design standard. The evaluation results show that the mobile usability and the users' satisfaction can be improved greatly with our attempts.In this paper, the conception of usability, main methods and the necessary of mobile usability are briefly introduced. Based on these studies, the experimental research of mobile usability is conducted on two aspects. (1) We implement a mobile phone and its improved one on simulators. (2) We describe the usability and evaluation of mobile usability, and evaluate two simulators with several usability text methods, to find serious of problems of the mobile phone products and improve the mobile usability. The conclusion of the research and the direction of further study are pointed out in the last part of this paper.
