With the fast development of the economy of our country, the demand for the railway is getting greater. So it is more important than ever to improve the construction level of railway informationization and the ability to transport. The system of train diagram is an important component of informationization construction of railway transportation, because the train diagram is the basis of the organization of railway operation. In order to give full play to the basic function of the train diagram and make good use of the information sharing advantage that technology of the computer brings, it is urgent to set up and amplify the inquiry management system for train diagram.This thesis develops an inquiry management system for train diagram by adopting RUP method (Rational Unified Process), and explains in detail how to realize the analysis, design and implementation of the system with the help of RUP, discusses the merits and drawbacks of Client/Server(C/S) structure and Browser/Server structure and realize system, according to the system demands and the current technology, by using the system mode combining C/S with B/S. This thesis also introduces various functional modules of the inquiry management system for train diagram. The system developed in this thesis, by adopting Rational Rose Tool, designs diagrams such as case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, package diagram and data model diagram. Finally implementation of the system is completed by VC++.The thesis is organized as follows: Chapter one introduces the current situation of the domestic research on inquiry management system for train diagram, and the significances of the present study.
