The research of near-infrared thermal imaging on-line monitoring for power equipment in substation is achieved in this paper. The system based on monochrome CCD sensor and correlative theoretical problems are researched. The system, which can detect near infrared and monitor some power equipments in the substation, is designed. The temperature-measuring model is constructed, some influential factors are analyzed, the simulation of atmosphere transmittance is completed and the calculation for temperature field is accomplished. The thermal images are collected. The de-noising of image is accomplished by using classical filtering methods. An algorithm based on wavelet threshold shrinkage and a method based on ICA is presented. Noise can be removed availably by using them. The contrast enhancement and false color display of images are completed. Simple calibration is given. The method proposed in this paper is demonstrated to be true and effective through results. Now the lowest temperature can be detected by this system is 137℃.
