The Study And Realization Of Embedded Gateway Based On Linux

In present Post-PC era when the digital information technology and network technology are developing at a high speed, the embedded system has permeated into scientific research, engineering design, military technique, all kinds of industries, commercial culture and arts, entertainment industry and daily life, etc. At present, microminiaturization and specializedly of embedded operating system are becoming the new trend of development. In the embedded operating system, because of such advantanges as opening, multitask, friendly interface, powerful network, stability and cost low, etc. Linux has been the new force in the embedded operating system's developing. Thus, the embedded Linux has very wide application foreground. This paper stems from the project-Embedded real-time multi-task operating systems and developing platform and industrialization, it plans to study and explore the kernel structure of Linux, the support of the network and the development mode of embedded Linux. Meanwhile, based on the existing developing platform and developing instrument, it also study and develop the embedded gateway system. The main work and achievements of this paper are summarized as follows: 1. It summarizes the character, actuality and development trend of Embedded Linux, and proposes the purpose and idea of this research. 2. It introduces generally Linux kernel, and analyses deeply process management, memory management and file system management, proposes the idea for implementing Linux on the bottom level, and discusses the relationship between them. 3. It studies the TCP/IP protocol, flow control and congest control for TCP/IP, embedded Linux protocol inn and corresponding set word (BSD socket), and carries on the analysis generally. 4. It discusses deeply the development mode of embedded Linux, and puts forward the solution to guiding the procedure of loading (boot loader) formulation, framework of loading, X window and development course of file system and kernel, etc. 5. It introduces the actuality, development trend and framework of the family gateway, studies the development envirement and application development of embedded gateway system based on Linux, and the detailed process of the driver development. It put forward the solution to such key technology as serial communication, implemention of TCP/IP protocol, and Web Server etc., and has developed and tested the embedded gateway system based on Linux. Finally, it summarizes this thesis, and carries on the expectation to the kernel and network of the embedded Linux, gateway based on Linux, home gateway and network security.
