The Research And Application Of Exception Handling In Workflow Management System Based On Agent

With the quick development of computer technology and network technology, Workflow technology is fully applied in the production and manufacture field. Workflow technology is the key technology that realizes enterprises' business process modeling, simulation, optimization, management, integration and finally automation. For special environments and long duration of executing, there are variances of possibilities to fail when Workflow running. A mechanism is necessary to maintain WFMS'robustness while error or failure happens.First, the origin, definition of workflow technology and Workflow Management System (WFMS) is given. Then it comes to the definition, types, monitoring and handing of workflow exceptions.Second, a exception handing model based on Agent workflow and mechanisms for monitoring analyzing is presented. The exceptional event base according to ECA rules has been established. The important functions of the exception handing model, the processes of exception handing in WFMS are analyzed.Finally, combining with the production reality, the professional process of Procurement and Inventory Management is analyzed and summarized. The workflow model of Procurement and Inventory Management is established by CIMflow model establishing tool. To show the exception handing mechanisms, we provide an example of exception in the auditing of stocking order.
