Networked manufacturing (NM), by applying network technologies, manufacturing technologies and other related technologies, can provide all kinds of business activities such as product design, manufacturing, sale, stock, management, etc., realize the sharing of all kinds of social resources and the collaboration of multi-enterprises. Supported by the NM system, the enterprises are able to construct systems fit to the special requirements, and to respond quickly to the market, thus catching the opportunity to thrive in the dynamic and open business context in the 21st century.Jinan NM integrated service platform is a regional NM project aimed at the requirements of so many middle and small enterprises in Jinan city. This paper discusses the design and construction of the platform from demand analysis, architecture and running model.After analyzing the demand of NM in enterprises of Jinan city, the functions of other domestic NM platform, and the demand supporting for running of platform. A functional architecture suit for the requirement of Jinan city is present.Aimed to the first phase goal of the project, a J2EE and MVC based platform architecture is designed using the software engineering approach, and the main function models design are given too. The general model design process is demonstrated by describing the model, view and control design of exhibition model in detail.The running model is an important factor of the success of NM system. By discussing the economical discipline of NM running, analyzing several existed business models of other NM systems, a suitable business model to the project is given. AS manufacturing service provision became main functionality of NM system,the running model of service is discussed too.The works of this paper is tightly related to the Jinan NM integrated service platform, some results have been applied in the project. Moreover, the exploit of this paper is useful for NM research and applications in other regions.
