In recent years, as rapid development of mobile communication technology, the demand for the miniaturization antennas with good compatibility for integrated circuit has been presented. With the advantages of simple structure, low profile and low cost, microstrip antennas have been used widely.In this thesis, according to the design method of inset-fed microstrip antennas, a bluetooth microstrip antenna and two-element microstrip array antenna have been designed with the electromagnetic simulation software Ansoft HFSS. The designed antenna and antenna array have the advantages of small size, good compatibility with bluetooth, and their matching circuit networks have been optimized obviously. The main author's work are as follows:First of all, the microstrip antenna's structure, radiation theory, analysis approach, type of feed, electrical parameter, the antenna array's concept and basic theroy are introduced.Then, the process of the design and simulation of the bule microstrip antenna is introduced in detail. Firstly, according to bluetooth communication standard and the design formula of microstrip antenna, the parameters of the antenna are calculated; Secondly, according to the parameters and the design formula of inset-fed microstrip antennas, the initial physical model of the antenna is set up; Finally, simulating and optimizing by the Ansoft HFSS, the optimal design is obtained. The designed antenna has an absolute bandwidth for 100 MHz, approximate 50 ohm input impedance and 3.50 dB gain at the center frequency 2.45GHz. It can be used in bluetooth communication.At last, with the experience of the design of the bluetooth inset-fed microstrip antenna in the third chapter, the work of the design of the microstrip element with 100 ohm input impedance can be done by the Ansoft HFSS. Based on that work, the bluetooth two-element microstrip array antenna, having a good performance, is designed by the Ansoft HFSS. Compared with the traditional two-element microstrip array antenna, the antenna array designed in this paper has concise feed network and better compatibility with the integrated circuit.
