Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol have been more and more adopted as main means of communication in the field of industry and automation. To be standard and open with the use of network is the main trend of different technique in control system. Ethernet has already been proved to be an advanced technique in a wide range. As the preferred technique in the 21st century, Ethernet will become standard and high-speed industrial network in the level of field control and equipment. It is important to study and design distributed control system based on Ethernet.The application of Ethernet technique in the automatic intaglio printing system has been illustrated in this subject. Field buses as CAN or RS-485 used to be the main communication way in the traditional distributed control intaglio printing system. Ethernet has the advantage of cheap cost, high communication speed, abundant resource of software and hardware and tremendous potential for development. The use of Ethernet technique in the intaglio printing system can raise the performance of the system.C8051F020 and RTL8019AS are used as the hardware platform. C8051F020 controls RTL8019AS to implement the driver of RTL8019AS. Thus the interface of intellectual node and Ethernet has been realized. In terms to the characteristics of Microcontroller, we simplify and optimize the traditional TCP/IP to some degree and succeed in loading TCP/IP protocol on Microcontroller.As Virtual Instrument development platform, Lab VIEW is used in this project to realize the man-machine interface. LabVIEW is a development environment with which program can be designed in graphic way. There are a large number of built-in functions, which can implement emulation, data acquisition, instrument control, measurement&analysis, waveform display and process control. Using communication node in LabVIEW can realize data communication between intellectual node and PC. Data analysis and chromatography waveform display have been performed in LabVIEW developing platform.TCP/IP protocol is loaded on Microcontroller C8051F020. That enables the intellectual node to have data interchange with Internet, which can provide the remotemeasurement syestem of industry. The constant development of Ethernet technique in industry will provide a standard, sharing and high-speed information channels for industry. This will take profound influence in the development of distributed control system.
