Image Search Engine Evaluating And Retrieval Mode Research

As an important component of the multimedia information, digital image has the vivid expression and is easy to be understood, which make it become one of the widely used media forms, such as commerce, education, science and technology and so on. For professional designer as well as ordinary users, finding and using image become a kind of demand. In order to make image information be acquired and used more quickly and effectively, the research of image retrieval engine is extremely important. At present, image retrieval has become a hotspot in the research field of computer science, information science, information management, e-commerce etc. This thesis aims to find the defect and make contribution to the theory development of the image search engine base on the WWW image search engine cases This thesis is structured as follows: Section one which includes chapter one describes the Internet development, the corresponding technology of search engine and image database. Principle and classification of the image search engine are also demonstrated in this section. Section two which includes chapter two and chapter three introduces the typical image search engine and evaluate them in a qualitative extent. The image search mode is also analyzed based on research of the typical search engine classification. Section three shows the shortages and points out the development trend of image search engine.
