This paper intends to propose a technical frame of military aviation surveillance based on double-star system, by analysis on requirements of military surveillance and capability of the double-star system. On the basis of the system architecture and working flow of military aviation surveillance, a verifying solution is planned and associated experimentation is conducted on a real carrying flight. Impact on capability of military aviation surveillance due to performance of our existing navigation star is further analyzed, and optimization solution is proposed. By real flight experimentation, it is concluded that military aviation surveillance based on double-star system is feasible. Double-star system can be used to provide positioning service, accurate timing and brief message communication to aircraft within low altitude airspace or beyond radar coverage.
