The Relation Of Redactology And Editology

In China, the research of redactology and editology were raiseded at the same timeand were developed in step. But with the research going further, the relation of the twosubjects has been another theory tickler in current during the learning research, which isalso the key problem we can't evade. There are two represent viewpoints of it. The oneon behalf of zhenduo wang and yiwen shao is standing at the height of establishingcommon redactology, and start from the redactology's history and present condition todo further research on the concept, theory and the knowledge system of redactologyitself, and summarized the common features of editing. They think editing andpublishing are the two interlinked parts in the course of culture producing, there are alsolots of editing activities besides the publishing. So redactology and editology are twoindependent subjects which have close relation with each other. The other view is onbehalf of guangyu liu, hualiang wang, wangbo and jingui wang, who enclosed editing inpublishing which after the invention of manuscript publishing and printing press skill.They consider redactology not to be an independent subject but a branch of editology,and think editing is attached to publishing, editing activity came into beingaccompanying to the need of publishing's development, and all the editing exist anddevelop in publishing industry. As the writer's view, the latter keeps an eye on the close relation of editing andpublishing and play a part on the coordination of the two activities. It has a certainreasonability under the condition which people took newspapers and periodicals as thecore and play a positive propulsion. But with the development of science and practice, italso exposed some defects and shortcomings, which cannot adapt to the development ofediting and publishing practice, so I am agree to the former: redactology and editologyare two close related subjects, they need close cooperation in the course of cultureproducing, but as subject research, they have their own research targets and theorysystems, and they are two subjects independent on each other. So redactology andeditology can be researched separately and generalized in actual practice application. After the hot discussing of learners last century, we raised this problem again,which can play an uncountable significant part in clarifying people's comprehension,propelling the construction of subjects and promoting the development of socialistpublishing industry. The essay focuses on comment about the latter and demonstrate andsupple the former by new editing and publishing practice activities, and also putforward my's own opinions, in the hope of playing a active part in the research of thetwo subjects' relation.
