With the development of Internet and enhancing requirement of sharing and cooperating with the development of Internet and enhancing requirement of sharing and cooperating between resources in wide-area distributed environment, grid technology becomes a research hotspot in distributed system area. Grid aims at integrating all kinds of resources, which are geographically distributed and heterogeneous, in order to complete specified task which hasn't efficient way now. These resources include high performance computer, data server, database, visual system and so on. As a kind of wide-area distributed environment, grid resources have characters as follows. They are geographically distributed and collected through WAN; their types and number are very huge; they are dynamically changing including their attributes; they are running on heterogeneous platforms and controlled by different administrate policy. OGSA (Open Grid Service Architecture) is the latest Grid architecture. Under OGSA, All resources are services, and the resource discovery became service discovery .So grid need an efficient resource discoverymechanism which doesn't depend on centralized controlling and is distributed and scaled and adopted to dynamically resources, and has good resource locating performance.However, most of current research on grid resource discovery concentrates on the design of the system architecture and the implementation of the prototype system. Research on concrete mechanisms and algorithms is comparatively scarce. In the thesis, a prototype of a new type of grid service discovery system is designed. And In the thesis, deep research is done on searching mechanism. The paper's main work is as follows:1. Research the concept, classification, architecture and tendency of grid technology, and make a conceptive foundation for grid resource discovery architecture in this paper.2. Research and analyze the key problems of grid resource discovery.3. Design a prototype of a new type of grid service discovery system; the main idea and the architecture of the system are described in detail.4. According grid is set of VOs, the grid system is organized as hierarchy cell structure for effectively service discovery.5. According IP multicast theorem, and put forward a new way called group diffuse to realize service discovery.6. Make an experiment with SimJava to verify the validity of the model and contrasted the performance of Gossip algorithm with that ofGroup diffuse algorithm.The research in the thesis has the theoretical significance on deep research in grid service discovery.
