Communication Power Supply Monitoring System is the shortened form of the centralized monitoring and management system for Communication Power Supply .air-condition and machinery room environment . It is a kind of distributed computer control system and a kind of computer integrated system combined with several technologies included sensor, modern computer, communication, network and human-machine system. It is able to realize three-tele functions included telemeasure, telecommunicate and telecontrol. This kind of monitoring system is of great importance to realize modern maintenance and scientific management to communication power supply.First of all, from the point of view of applications, this paper analyzed its function division, basic parts, gradation structure, configuration principle and network topology. Then emphatically discussed how to define monitored objects and how to choose and settle monitoring points.Then, after talking about above-mentioned points, this paper put forward a complete design program for a monitoring system. The detailed design content included the whole structure design, its hardware design, software design, network design and the respective communication protocols.This system introduced a three-gradation structure, that is, supervision module(SM), supervision unit(SU) and supervision center(SC); adopted the existing 97 network and PSTN network, El as the main transport channel and DDN as the spare transport channel.In the part of hardware design, SU is emphasized. It introduced a two-gradation CPU for control. The prepositive machine is the first gradation, and its CPU used H8S/2144MCU, which is a 16-bit singlechip and have strong I/O function. The upper machine is its second gradation and it used a common computer. This tow-gradation management pattern enhanced stability and reliability of the system.In the part of software design, module idea is adopted and the main flow chart is advanced. This software realized real time monitoring through cycled check continuously.In the part of network design, the communication networks making use of all kinds of field-bus such as RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN and LonWorks are studied in details.In the part of communication protocol, the application layer, physical layer and link layer between intelligent equipments, subsystems, master SM and slave SM, SM and SU, are designed respectively.In the end, based on discussing the evaluation factors of the monitoring system, the summarization and prospects of the research were described.
