With the development of Internet, modern distance learning is playing a more and more important role in the educational field. And as shared resource, teaching resource can offer valuable information to reader. But in the traditional modern distance learning, when use the searching engine to search for teaching resources, it often search a lot of uncorrelated information, and different readers will receive the same search result. Which cause reader to be difficult to find out resource correlated with what he want to, difficult to realize relevant semantic merge and finding rating accurately and looking for the whole rating high of resource. And make the traditional modern distance learning unable to offer personalized service for readers, can't realize that students' personalized study, because the traditional modern distance learning does not have semantic information to the expression of resources, the computer does not understand what information expresses. There lack a kind of unified mechanism of contacting in space the author expresses and space the reader browses.This paper combines the fund project of national natural science—A research on a structured model of networked information space for automatic resource discovery, propose to the self-help teaching system based on web for personalized study aiming to the deficiency existing to the modern distance learning at present. The teaching system describes teaching resource with semantic based on a certain specific field, and make it has semantic information understood by the machine. Meanwhile this paper puts forward a kind of new teaching mode—self-help teaching mode which makes students' study autonomous and self-helping, solves the contradiction between uniform teaching mode and student self-design in the traditional modern distance learning. The innovations are: 1.Semantic describe to teaching resources with ontology; 2.Realize personalized searching for and browsing; 3.Propose to a kind of new self-help teaching model, solve the contradiction between uniform teaching mode and student self-design; 4. Realize that the display form define of the component of teaching resources and the describing of operate the authority; 5.Self-help teaching system of based on domain knowledge.This paper carries on ontological analysis and ontological modeling introduce to self-help teaching system based on web for personalized study by using ontology. And describe teaching resource's ontological model by using that language OWL (Web Ontology Language ), thus support computer analyzing , Webnetwork transmitting and inquiry based on semantic. Combine together with other subproject—a networked information personalized browsing space based on domain knowledge realize personalized browsing. This paper has verified the feasibility of this system with a application instance finally, have reflected its using value.
