The structure of satellite antenna is increasingly faced to the requirement of enlargement now, which is contradict to the effective transportation capacity of the rocket, the solution is to use the reasonable space deployable structure on the satellite antenna. In order to apply to the development of national defence and spaceflight, the task " research on and development of designing and innovating platform of deployable antennas" is put forward. The main purpose of this task is to study the basic theory and practical application of deployable antennas. And this paper just serves the task.The flexible cable net deployable antenna have a simple structure and distinct working theory, so it is the ideal structure form of large satellite antenna at present. In this paper, the structure organization of the flexible cable net deployable antenna is desired in detail at first, and the structural analysis module is built considering the geometry nonlinearity of the cable net and the actual structure of the antenna. Based on the analysis module and primary complications which effect the structure properties of the antenna, the paper presents an optimum design model searching for minimum weight design with the constraints such as reflector precision, eigenfrequency, strength and forbidden frequency domain. The design variables include both the cross-sectional area of truss and stress of cable. It is difficult to solve the optimum design model with traditional algorithm, thus an improved GAS is proposed by the author and used to deal with the problem, and it brings us good and useful results. In addition, cable net is also used on the design of offset single reflector antenna in the last of the paper, and good results show the validity of this methodology.
