With the development of the global third generation mobile communication system and the progress of industrialization of TD-SCDMA system in China, smart antenna has become a hot research field in mobile communication system, and channel calibration is one of the key technologies in smart antenna system. The main function of channel calibration is to detect and compensate the relative differences (phase differences and amplitude differences) of the transmission speciality between the signals transmitted (TX calibration) and received (RX calibration) in the array channels of smart antenna system. It can also detect the physical status of channel in smart antenna system in order to make sure the best performance of algorithms in smart antenna system.In this paper, the key technologies of TD-SCDMA system are discussed briefly, based on the introduction of the current development of the third mobile communication. After the analysis of smart antenna technology and the basic principles of AC, a general scheme of TD-SCDMA Node-B channel calibration is proposed. The design principle and calibration flow of on-line calibration of AC are analyzed in detail. Lastly, according to the analysis of simulation models, the performance of two calibration algorithms is evaluated. The research and practice of this paper contribute to the fantastic development of TD-SCDMA system of our country.
