Design And Implementation Of Short Message And WAP Accessing In The MVSP

Mobile Value-added Service Platform (MVSP) is the interface between Mobile Operator and Mobile Service Provider. The MVSP is a middle-ware integration platform. After analyzing the architecture of the MVSP and all types of communication protocols, the MVSP communication module is designed for TV industry. The communication module implements two functions: the universal access interface of short message service and the access interface of the Wireless Application Protocal (WAP) service.For the universal access interface of short message service, the MVSP implements not only all types of short message communication protocols, but also the universal accessing of these protocols. The design of universal access interface is using XML to packet the communication interfaces. The universal access interface can shield the differences of the protocols for the service module, so the service module could management services more effectively.For the access interface of the WAP service, the MVSP communication module includes two parts: one part is for transforming the service requests of WAP protocol stack to the service requests of WWW protocol stack. Another part is for compressing the coding format. The Kannel WAP gateway in Linux is used to implement these two functions. The WAP interface in the MVSP makes the mobiles terminals to access the Internet and share the media service online.The results show the MVSP implements the short message and WAP accessing successfully. After using universal access interface, the performance of the MVSP has been greatly improved.
