GIS And Its Application In PHS Wireless Network

This article introduced the PHS wireless network and the wide varities of GIS applicatiton in the whole life cycle of PHS wireless network. By compare with regular DBMS, we can see the great advantages of GIS technologies in the area of special related project. However, this article also point out that the vector electronic map which is the base of current GIS technologies is still very rare in rural area of China and this prevent GIS from being more widely adopted. Due to this reason, this article introduced how to make vecotor electronic map based on paper map as well as how to register raster electronic map and make it useable in PHS wireless network. The registered raster electronic map had been proved to be much more easier to get and yet usable for PHS wireless netwowrk planning purpose.
