Distributed computing technology has being greatly promoted, while E-business and E-government are greatly inspired as Internet spreads apace. There are several development stages of distributed computing, such as 1980's Distributed Operating System, Client/Server computing mode, 1990's Object-Oriented n-Tier Client/Server computing mode, etc. Currently, distributed computing is coming into the new era - Computing Grid. However, distributed computing isn't widely used up to the present because of some problems, such as the complexity of compute network which is distributed and dynamic and heterogeneous, attacks from persons, etc.Web Services is one of the Grid technology developed by syndication, which stands on some underlying standard protocols including XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, etc. Web Services is a fire-new method with which computing, data and services resources deploied on Internet can be converged efficiently and be shared widely. However, the security model of mainstream Distributed Object does not apply to Web Services, and distributed computing based on Web Services is still on the developing way, integrated security model hasn't come into being. In this paper, the security problems of distributed computing are fixed on and studied. First, interoperability of distributed computing and its faced security risks are analyzed, and defects of mainstream distributed computing technology and its security model are surveyed. Then advantages of Web Services which is used to developing distributed computing systems are discussed. And after Web Services and its security technology have been studied thoroughly, a new platform / program / message three-level security model of distributed computing based on web services is put forward. And then a trial distributed computing system – XWebse which is based on XML Web Services was designed and implemented. Finally, the latest security study progress on Web Services – GXA WS-Security is introduced, and the trend of security research on distributed computing is viewed. |
