Wideband signal generation is a key technique in modern radar system design. According to radar signal theory and the requirement of xxx C-band objective characteristic measure radar, wideband signal generation method, the systemic quality analysis evaluation, system design and implementation and system optimization were discussed in this paper. The paper is composed of the follow four parts:First, the radar signal theory, signal form selection and generation were studied. Based on the theory of radar, the characteristic of LFM(Linear frequency modulation) signal was introduced; Meanwhile some methods of LFM signal generation were provided in this part, thereout, a feasible method was selected for the system.Secondly, Wideband signal quality was evaluated. All parts affect in system quality were analyzed in detail. This analysis provided theoretic basis for system design.Third, the design and implementation of wideband signal generation system were introduced. C-band wideband signal generator with 500MHz bandwidth was implemented successfully.Fourth, pre-distortion calibration and system testing were analyzed. System distortion was serious before pre-distortion calibration, pre-distortion calibration method was provided according to the system function of pre-distortion calibration. The favorable testing result indicated the C-band wideband signal generation system is efficiency.In addition, the paper summarizes some practical problems and their solution in the course of the design, and system improvement measures were put forward at last.
