Advanced radar systems not only search, detect, capture and track targets, but also gather detailed information from the targets. With the development of modern digital technology and VLSI, the method of digital waveform synthesis of the pulse compression signal is now widely used in radar systems . The waveform generation using digital system is of strict coherence, repetitiveness, high stability and programmablility , which can also easily realize the waveform parameter's agility and generate arbitrary complicated waveforms in order to meet the urgent requirement for anti-interference and strong survival ability of radars under modern EW environment . Thus, further researches on digital waveform generation are of much importance recently.An experiment waveform generator for a radar system has been implement, which can generate various waveforms and modes with 5MHz bandwidth working at 30MHz carrier. The test results indicate that the performance of harmonic achieve more than 60dB , spurious achieve 65dB and the flatness of the pulse envelop precede (2%, completely meet the system requirements.The primary work in this dissertation:Discussing especially the principle, design and implementation of generating LFM/NLFM/PHC signals based on direct digital waveform synthesis (DDWS) technology;Bringing availably forward a realizable method based of CPLD and four channel pipelining architecture;Measuring fully the LFMNLFM/PHC signals and analyzing effectively these signals based on DDWS technology, and achieving satisfying results .
