With the development of computer science and the popularity of the Internet, the web-based learning has become the main stream of distance learning. However, there are still some problems in web-based learning. For example, the learning resources can't be reused and shared effectively, and users are often disorientated in learning space. To solve the problems mentioned above, this paper builds a standard web-based learning platform, which adopts the e-learning standardization, Sharable Content Object Reference Model, developed by US ADL initiative. This paper first briefly introduces the conception of SCORM vl.2. Then the paper analyzes the system architecture of the SCORM-compliant web-based learning platform, and describes how to build this platform according to J2EE n-tier distributed architecture. After that the paper presents the solution for several main modules, companied with relevant methods and process of the implementation. On basis of SCORM and J2EE n-tier distributed architecture, this paper constructs a standardized web-based learning platform architecture, which can be regarded as an exploration into a unified distance learning world.
