The mold design is a innovative process based on knowledge and experience .It is the comprehension ,inheritance, gather, creation and management of design knowledge .The commutation process of typical mold business enterprises nearly 90% is the commutation of the data. At the same time ,there is nearly 75% is knowledge or information. The knowledge has become the most important capital and productivity of the business enterprise. The application of knowledge and the management of knowledge will enhance the ability of the new product development and the ability of adaptability for market in business enterprises.With the development of network technique , network cooperation technique based on concurrent engineering proved a new way for obtaining the mold design knowledge and the application of knowledge. The implement of the new method will enhance the technique cooperation among the mold business enterprise alliance and reduce the period of new product design. So the main problem is how to share and make use of the knowledge in alliance. We must guarantee the standard of design knowledge in alliance.A mold business enterprise alliance network technological design knowledge database is a possible project to resolve the problem. The knowledge database can not only be used as the file database , technique support database for the alliance, but also can be used as the high level integrated database of business enterprise. By making use of the advantage of network, customer with a standard browser, while having the certain legal power right, can exchange the product design information and other information under any environment. By this way, every department of enterprise,such as market, design, sale and other allies, can take part in the life circle of product. Establishing knowledge database in alliance scope or business enterprise scope is an inevitable request for business enterprise development.However, the knowledge database is only a platform for sharing knowledge. The experience of mold design is still hide in the database. User can't see it visibly. User can only query data in the database. So we make it visible for user with the help of the datamining technique under the guide of user. The datamining result is provided with graphic or SDK packet. User can use the result to adjust their design. This method provide a new knowledge source for mold design. This paper first introduces basic theories of the datamining and knowledge discovery briefly. Then it analyze the query of the network information and the characteristic of the datamining . Later it discussed a series of problem about it , including establishing the knowledge database, the definition of datamining target, the characteristic and classification of datamining target. At last ,we design the system frame and devided it into module. Especially ,it special designed the datamining model of association ,multi-media and text. All works provide a beneficial way in inheritance and management of knowledge for mold business enterprise.
