The paper states the emergence and status quo of Fieldbus Control System(FCS) and Industrial Ethernet,and then analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the two technologies.The paper also points out several problems of application of commercial Ethernet in industrial control system. Be faced with these problems, the paper raises solutions respectively after summarizes several standards and strategies of Industrial Ethernet.Besides, the paper also introduces several typical types of Industrial Ethernet and their applications.IEEE802.3 and TCP/IP may be the standards of Physical layer, Datalink layen Network layer, Transport layer of Industrial Ethernet. The Ethernet and TCP/IP controller implemented based on ARM Core MCU is compatible with commercial Ethernet.The controller will provide the functions of Industrial Ethernet by extending its communication module. The course of realization of the network controller by transplanting uC/OS II and IwIP to ARM Core MCU AT91X40X is emphasized after the architecture of ARM(Advanced RISC Machine). the kernel of the real time operation system uC/OS II and the light weight TCP/IP stack IwIP is introduced in the paper. The function testing examples is described in detail as follows. The testing examples shows that the network controller implemented can communicate with standard Ethernet Adapter successfully.With Socket Client/Server, the network controller can communicate with monitor station. The monitor station may change or upgrade the data block of the network controller. The network controller is also the base of Industrial Ethernet devices.
