In VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) systems, the processing of radar original video signal is very important. The analogic radar signal processing has many obvious shortcomings. To meet the requarements of real time radar singal processing, a digital radar signal acquisition and processing system is designed by the chip of FPGA and DSP and PCI in this paper.In this paper, my main studies of the radar signal digital processing are as follows:1. System hardware designs: Designing a realtime radar signal collecting and processing card based on FPGA, DSP and PCI.2. System software designs: embracing the PCI driver, initialization the interface chip and the software of DSP.3. At last, the automatic radar target tracking are discussed, and the algorithms ofα-β filter on DSP put forward, some simulations done by Matlab.To ensure of the real-time processing of radar signal in this design, the radar signal collecting and preprocessing is finished by FPGA, the processing of radar target tracking carried by DSP, and the communication between system and host done via PCI interface.Because the α-β filter with constant gain is simpler and the basicrequirements of the ship target tracking can be satisfied by the filter, it is selected in the design, and some problems, such as the parameter-selection in its application, discussed, and some simulations are gived.
