The method of visual testing of the steel tube ends is an unresolved problem in petrol industry, chemical industry, pressure vessel industry and oil and gas transporting project. I discuss the visual method and system of the steel tube ends based on the magnetic flux leakage theory, design a visual testing system of steel tube ends that makes the undetected areas testing of the steel tube ends possible.I first introduce the importance and the basic situation of the steel tube ends testing; then explain the flux leakage theory, which is the base of the design of the testing flux leakage system. The emphasis is on the reasons why there exists undetected areas and the methods of get rid of the undetected areas. Discuss the relationship between the flux leakage signal and the flaw parameters. Finally, I introduce the structure and the performance of the whole system; discuss the processing of the interface signal in detail. The emphasis of this system is the design of the software. What I design uses the database access technology of DAO, which makes the access speed higher than the former system. It improves the performance of the software. In addition, I illustrate how to use Bluetooth technology in this system. The emphasis of this paper is the software design of steel tube ends testing system. The difficult part of the whole system is: the design of the interface circuit, the virtual device driver of the data collection card HY-6070C, the design of the flaw determinant algorithm and the design and operation of the database. I give a detailed discussion for those questions in this paper. This system can reach the goal of no undetected areas testing. It is a high performance testing system.
