Abstract With the rapid development of economy, intelligent buildings are like bambooshoots after spring rain. It requires the fire warning and protection system to be moreefficient. The traditional fire warning and protection system followed a simplemethod that is the system will alarm when fire occurs. The firemen can't get moreuseful information using the traditional fire protection system, such as the locationand degree of fire, the structure of the building, and so on. These kinds ofinformation are very important in studying out the fire-fighting plan. Without thesekinds of useful information, the best fire-fighting opportunity will be missed. Thatwill cause more lost. In order to meet the strongly requirement, the dissertation brings forward theconcept of fire warning and protection assistant system. The fire warning andprotection assistant system bases on the technology of virtual reality. The system cananalyses the data of intelligent sensors then estimate the location and degree of fire.The location and degree of fire and the structure of the building will be displayed onthe monitor's screen. The system also can help firemen studying out the efficientfire-fighting plan. With the help of fire warning and protection assistant system,firemen can make virtual training to reduce the training cost. The design of fire warning and protection assistant system is very complex.How to input the structure of buildings and how to interact with the virtual buildingsare two difficult problems. The dissertation compared the methods of inputting thestructure of buildings, and finally given the best solution of the problem. In order tosolve the problem of interacting with the virtual buildings, the dissertation discussedthe design of the three-dimensional engine based on virtual reality, and describedhow to design the monitor system on the bases of three-dimensional engine. The dissertation introduces some creative ideas, such as modifying the rule ofthe binary tree to make it fit the structure of virtual reality modeling language. The concept of fire warning and protection assistant system is new. With thedevelopment of the system, more and more advanced technologies will be applied.The fire warning and protection assistant system will be revolutionary improvementin the field of fire protection.
