Design And Research Of Reggedized Computer Based On CompactPCI

Ruggedized computer is a special industrial computer used in harsh environment. The kind of computer is a new one of its kinds based on CompactPCI (CPCI) technology and conforms to CPCI specifications and reinforcing method.This paper starts with the features of the computer, analyzes its development course, status and problems with it, and discusses the necessity of developing the Ruggedized computer based on CompactPCI technology. The main contents are as follows:First, discuss the technical plan, design and research in terms of hardware and reinforcing method In hardware, the system main-board makes use of Intel 440BX AGPset, and PCI-to-PCI bridge circuit. Interface module between PCI and ISA bus tests the function of the bus. Arrangement of wires is in PowerPCB way and covered with large area of copper on the out layer of printed plate, which plays an important role in decreasing GND drifting, preventing Electro Magnetic Interference, and improving signal quality.In reinforcing design, the casing is designed in airproof ART technology facilitated by forced wind cooling and conduction to radiate heat. Both the module and casing are in "balance thermal" with heat conduction board to reduce hear resistance in integrated structure. In design of electromagnetic compatibility, technology such as fully airproof casing, conductive pads, filtering and grounding are used to decrease electric interdiction and cut off possibility of intervention transmitting. Reliability forecast make quantitative analysis about reliability of modules and system.In harsh environment such as on an airplane or on a ship exposed to heat, humidity, vibration, electromagnetism interference and radiation, which are the main elements affecting the performance, the Ruggedized computer based on PCI bus and reinforcing technology can still work stably in such harsh environment. Moreover, this kind of computer is sure to become the main military equipment due to its incomparable advantages in high-speed information processing, transmission and video processing.
