Power system becomes more and more significant for the nation's economic construction and people's livelihood. And the electricity grid monitoring, power regulated system is the most important guarantee for the power system. Data acquisition and processing unit is the part of obtaining the original data for the monitoring system. And it's stability, reliability and real-time processing is a critical factor for the entire system.This article is based on the electricity grid project in Inner Mongolia Province. And how to achieve the real-time data acquisition system function's achievement under QNX system which based on CompactPCI bus data acquisition is investigated. According to the functional requirements for the data acquisition and processing unit in electricity grid monitoring system, our design adopt the CompactPCI bus, the open and reliable bus system, as the hardware platform. we also use the QNX, the real-time operating system, as the software platform for the whole data acquisition and processing unit. The driver is developed for the CompactPCI bus data acquisition under QNX system, and achieves the function of real-time data acquisition which passed the verification through the test.The article first describes the project background, current status of such applications and the reason for the project to adopt the framework which integrated CompactPCI bus hardware and QNX operate system. Next, the article keep insight into the characteristics, hot-swappable and function of Rear I/O of CompactPCI bus, the features of QNX operating system and methods for the driver developing, and general methods for PCI low lever driver developing. Finally, principle and function of AMCC S5935 chip is highlighted, by using the chips, the low level driver of CompactPCI data acquisition based on QNX operating system is developed. The detail of realization method and development process of DMA and interrupt is introduced. and the real-time indicators is also verified through the method of testing.
