Along with the pc's performance improving, more and more resources are left idle at most time, and most resources are belonged to different organize or individual, moreover every user has different requirement, this will cause some pc are overload at some time for too many jobs, but at the same time some are idle because no job to run, this is the case that we called "resource' starve". How to improve the resource utility is a practical problem face to us now. Grid computing is a fast developing wide area network computing technique and now is on the way to mature. It enables the coordinated use of resources that are owned by different individuals or organizations, and are autonomous and more geographically distributed, heterogeneous in nature in the absence of central control, omniscience and strong trust relationships. This technique has more characteristic that suit to the local area network such as self-similarity scalability ,so it can be improved and used to the campus network .This paper just mainly studies the low level software that supporting the object that using matured Grid computing technique to coordinate use of campus network's distributed resource-Resource Monitoring System in Campus Network Using Grid Technique.Firstly, this paper introduce Grid computing and it's history, secondly to analyze the theory and system architecture of the Grid Resource Monitoring, taking account of characteristics of campus net work gave out aim of this system design and it's system architecture, The following is our research and experiment to the resources monitoring system in the campus network.1 The data model of this system:The Directory Information Tree of the LDAP server stores not only static data, but also dynamic data to reduce the interaction between client and server since the data can be obtained in one access.2 The monitoring object of this system:According for the need of the system to coordinate use of campus network's distributed resource we give out the monitoring objects of this system; it can monitor the system network and applications resources status data in real time;3 The Architecture of this system:This system adopt the three level client/server architecture based on middleware to invalid the secure problem caused by consumer's directly access to object and impact to the pc that are monitored.4 Publication/subscription of event data:The consumer can subscribe event data from the producer according the requirement and can set some filters and the refresh rate;5 Expand character:This system support the dynamic join-in of resources, and support the data collection to the high level system via asynchronous remote replica of LD AP server;6 Support to heterogeneous resource:It solved the heterogeneous system problem via the organization and level architecture of data information and interface of API.7 It can also monitor the status of server:Through the process and it's status we can get the service status of the server.8 It can also monitor all the port that has been opened:The port num opened by process including 8 id system process ,and give out the information about the process that using it.At the end of this paper, we give out the whole implement of this system , it can be used to monitor the resources of the campus network to give a good support to coordinate use of campus network's distributed resources system.
