The Study Of USB Technology And The Implementation

The thesis origins from the military research project "width scope color ink jet plotter to be used in military affairs " ,which is being taken by the research institute of computer peripherals of Xi Dian university.With the improvement of computer performance and the development of computer peripherals, especially in the field of computer imagine and graphics ,high resolution performance and high transfer speed are demanded . The contradiction of the interconnection between computers and the peripherals is becoming more and more serious, how to deal with the problem, is growing more urgent. However, USB technology provides the satisfactory answer. The thesis introduces the principle, structure and characteristics of USB, including USB1 .x,USB2.0. USB background of the University Serial Bus (USB),including design goals features of the bus ,and existing technologies, is presented. The USB is specified to be an industry-standard extension to the PC architecture with a focus on PC peripherals that enable consumer and business applications, in which several criteria were applied in defining the architecture for the USB.In order to verify the USB technology ,the EZ-USB development system, which was developed by CYPRESS, is discussed in detail, with EZ-USB chip AN2131QC based on the USB 1.1,the design of USB interface of the width scope color ink jet plotter is finished .
