The ITU-T Recommendation G.729A can run on 8Kbit/s without degrading the quality of the speech. The upper part in this paper introduces this algorithm and realizes it on the TMS320C6711DSK. In the following text, subjects like C6711 signal processing, algorithm design and implementation, software optimizing will be discussed one by one.The lower part in this paper puts forward a Multi-functional PCI signal processing card based on TMS320C5402, after a description of TMS320C5402 chip. Both hardware and software design of this card are discussed in necessary depth, which includes minimum system of DSP, codec circuit, PCI interface circuit, windows drive model (WDM) driver programming and voice stream back control software.Now, this card has been the DSP starter kit (DSK) in the graduate student's DSP experiment. The results of practical measurement and run show that this card meets our application requirements in multi-functional signal processing.
