With the development of technology, the demand of the targets to the photoelectric rotary encoders is higher and higher. It is difficultly to enhance the resolution of encoders if commonly depending on thinner engraving grating. Therefore, at present, the primary technology to improve the encoders' resolution is the interpolation technology of the moire stripe signal. The interpolation errors of the moire stripe signal have worked on the whole precision of encoder greatly for high-resolution, high-accuracy photoelectric rotary encoders. However it's difficult to measure the resolution errors under the conditions of smaller grating pitch and many interpolations. So a measurement means, using under all kinds of conditions, that not only is precise but also simple on operation is anxious to be required.According to the analyzing on the questions such as the parameters of moire stripe signal influence on photoelectric rotary encoder interpolation errors, Lissajou chart's characteristics and applications in interpolation errors measurement, we developed a dynamic measurement method about the parameters of moire stripe signal and interpolation errors evaluation. With the combination of hardware and software, a dynamic measurement system of interpolation errors of photoelectric rotary encoder is designed.The system consists of a set of 14 bits A/D and a real-time collection and calculation system by Visual Basic 6.0 tools. The main advantages are described as follows:1. The operation is simple, and it is easy to use.2. The conditions of application are not confined, and the result will be output if there is eligible input sign.3. Real time output.4. Improves the measurement efficiency, and shorten the time of measurement. In general, the device can implement the dynamic measurement about theparameters of moire stripe signal and interpolation errors evaluation. The significance of the system is that it could measure encoders on practical applications.
